Hypertherm announces release of Production Manager for ProNest CAD/CAM nesting software

Hypertherm announces release of Production Manager for ProNest CAD/CAM nesting software

Hypertherm, manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, today announced the release of Production Manager, an optional module for its ProNest® advanced CAD/CAM nesting software. This web-based module is designed to improve productivity, maximize machine up-time, boost on-time delivery, and increase material utilization.

Production Manager seamlessly integrates with Hypertherm’s EDGE Connect® CNC, to automatically capture machine data without the need for operator intervention. In addition, it displays real-time production data so team members across an organization can track the status of job orders, the production schedule, and pending inventory requirements. Additional features include:

·         Dashboard view. Intuitive dashboard view provides production stats and trends in one view. Color-coded status alerts help users quickly understand the on-screen information while an interactive display allows users to drill down for additional insight.

·         Real-time information. Real-time machine data from the CNC is transferred to Production Manager. This enables users to track job progress from pending, to in-production, to actual completion time making it easier to respond to customer inquiries and forecast the production schedule.

·         Flexible intervention. Cancel or hold orders to add or remove parts based on last-minute changes. Users can view machine backlogs and ensure loads are evenly distributed across cutting machines in a way that optimizes the production schedule.

·         Remote access. Makes it easy for users to access Production Manager via a computer, mobile phone, or tablet anytime and anywhere users have a secured network or VPN connection.

“Production Manager takes the guess work out of an organization’s daily operation by connecting everyone to the same information, in real-time to drive business cohesion and continuity,” said Tom Stillwell, Product Marketing Manager for Hypertherm software products. “Production Manager is also a great example of how Hypertherm hardware and software products work together to provide customers with new levels of automation and efficiency, something that is increasingly important as companies move toward a more digital shop floor. Production Manager further extends ProNest’s reach across organizations by interfacing with all aspects of the cutting operation including sales, customer service, procurement, and management.”

New PlateSaver technology from Hypertherm helps customers maximize parts and profit per plate

New PlateSaver technology from Hypertherm helps customers maximize parts and profit per plate

Hypertherm, manufacturer of industrial cutting systems
and software today introduced PlateSaver™, a new SureCut™ technology that automatically maximizes the
number of parts on a plate for more profit per plate.
PlateSaver is available through Hypertherm’s ProNest® and other authorized software for fabricators cutting
mild steel on a CNC table using X-Definition plasma. It combines the arc stability of X-Definition plasma with
specialized software parameters to dramatically increase material utilization. Those parameters cause
PlateSaver to use shorter leads when starting and finishing a cut for less wasted space between parts. In
addition to shorter lead-ins and lead-outs, PlateSaver takes molten metal into account by using moving
pierces that cause molten splatter to fall within a predictable “splash zone.”
“We are excited to introduce this new SureCut technology as it will allow customers to increase their profits
through the reduction of waste,” explained Tom Stillwell, a Hypertherm product manager. “By fitting more
parts on a plate, customers will spend less time and money purchasing, moving, and storing metal, and also
less time tracking and conducting inventory on partially used plate.”
SureCut technology maximizes cutting performance by automatically embedding thousands of cutting
parameters into authorized hardware and software products. It includes True Hole® for bolt ready holes, True
Bevel™ to simplify the process of cutting beveled edges, and Rapid Part® to markedly reduce cut-to-cut cycle
time. To learn more about SureCut please visit www.hypertherm.com/SureCut.

Hypertherm announces release of ProNest 2023 CAD/CAM nesting software

Hypertherm announces release of ProNest 2023 CAD/CAM nesting software

Hypertherm, a U.S. based manufacturer of industrial
cutting systems and software, today announced a major version update to ProNest® 2023, its advanced
CAD/CAM nesting software for automated cutting. This new release contains a collection of new features
and on-going enhancements designed to help customers improve their operational efficiency while reducing
non-value-added tasks.
ProNest 2023 includes full functionality for PlateSaver™, a SureCut™ technology that combines the arc
stability of X-Definition® plasma with specialized software parameters to dramatically increase material
utilization when cutting mild steel. In addition, it contains enhancements to ProNest’s Production Manager, a
web-based module that seamlessly integrates with Hypertherm’s EDGE Connect® CNC to automatically
capture real-time machine data. Enhancements include the ability to edit production times for completed
nests, set job status changes, and search for nests by customer. There is also a feature that merges XPR
setups. The software will now automatically detect and merge changes made to the process parameters or
bevel spreadsheets into a new setup during installation. Customers can choose to use their existing
customizations or the latest factory cut charts.
Finally, the software is even easier to use. Changes to the user interface include a new welcome screen and
customizable ribbon. The welcome screen contains an informative dashboard that highlights training videos,
application tips, and other valuable resources while the ribbon allows users to add, remove and rearrange
tabs. Customers can save different ribbon configurations and easily switch between them as needed, to best
fit their workflow.
“Our software developers have really focused on reducing the waste inherent in most cutting operations.
Features like PlateSaver do this by maximizing the number of parts on a plate so customers have to buy
fewer plates and waste less metal,” said Tom Stillwell, Product Marketing Manager for Hypertherm
CAD/CAM software products. “At the same time, the internet of things has allowed us to make great strides
in manufacturing automation. Data that we’ve never had before is now easily at our fingertips. Tools like our
Production Manager module will help customers look at their operations more holistically, providing insight to
help them work smarter, faster, and more profitably.”

Hypertherm Associates introduces new single-piece cartridge consumable for HPRXD plasma systems

Hypertherm Associates introduces new single-piece cartridge consumable for HPRXD plasma systems

Hypertherm Associates, manufacturer of
industrial cutting products and software, today announced the release of a single-piece
consumable cartridge and cutting torch for Hypertherm HPRXD® plasma systems.
The new HPR® cartridge is designed for use with current HPRXD systems, and aside from the new
torch, requires no changes to the system or system settings. Operators can replace both in
seconds without the use of tools.
The cartridge replaces the traditional 5-piece consumable stackup with a perfectly aligned part that
lasts longer and delivers extended high-definition cut quality. It makes consumable management
and assembly much easier, and eliminates errors caused by incorrect handling or installation.
“We are very excited to bring this new cartridge to market since it offers so many benefits to our
loyal HPR customers,” said Kristopher Rich, the marketing director for HPRXD products. “It
simplifies plasma cutting and training for fabricators, job shops, and manufacturers struggling to fill
open positions. At the same time, it makes cutting with one of our best-selling systems more
efficient by nearly eliminating the high cost of downtime from consumable selection errors and
reducing time spent on consumable management and changeouts.”
The HPR cartridge and torch are now available from authorized partners of Hypertherm technology
brand products. The cartridge comes in three amperages—80, 130, and 260 amps—for mild steel
cutting.
